Upcoming Opportunities to Help Shape Airway Heights’ Climate Resiliency Plan

Upcoming Opportunities to Help Shape Airway Heights’ Climate Resiliency Plan

The City of Airway Heights is creating a Climate Resiliency Plan as part of the 2026 Comprehensive Plan update. As we move into the next phase of this work – mitigation – we are exploring actions that can help reduce the emissions that contribute to climate change. These actions include improving energy efficiency in existing and new buildings, supporting public transit and active transportation options, and expanding opportunities for vehicle electrification.

Throughout December, the City will host several opportunities for residents, community partners, and advisory groups to learn about this work and share feedback on what should be prioritized in the emissions-reduction plan.

Engagement Schedule

Friday, December 12

Pop Up Conversations – 8:00 AM–5 PM

These conversations help the City hear directly from residents, businesses, and partners about what matters most as we shape Airway Heights’ emissions-reduction strategies, with a focus on energy-efficient buildings, public transit and active transportation, and vehicle electrification. Sessions may be one-on-one or in small groups and can be scheduled using this link or by calling 509-828-0462. A Zoom option is also available.

This short survey invites you to share your perspectives on:

  • Challenges and opportunities related to upgrading or retrofitting existing buildings
  • What would make it easier or more appealing for people to walk, bike, or use transit
  • Opportunities and barriers around electric vehicle use and charging infrastructure
  • What success for this project should look like from your point of view
