Transportation Benefit District
Transportation Benefit District Renewal Approved
Voters renewed the city’s Transportation Benefit District (TBD) in the November 8 General Election.
Because of the community’s support, the city can continue funding critical transportation projects to relieve traffic congestion and improve pedestrian safety. The TBD renewal will also help the city leverage an estimated $21 million in additional grant funding over the next 10 years for larger projects like the city’s planned multimodal alternative to U.S. 2.
The TBD is funded through a 0.3 percent sales tax or three cents on a $10 purchase. Most of the TBD funding comes from visitors traveling along U.S. 2 who stop in Airway Heights for food, fuel, or to shop or attend events and conferences.
Thank you for investing in critical transportation and safety infrastructure.
