Airway Heights launches Climate Resiliency Planning Project – Airway Heights, WA
Help Shape Airway Heights’ Future
Join the Conversation to Build a Safer, More Resilient Community
The City of Airway Heights is developing a new Climate Resiliency Plan as part of the 2026 Comprehensive Plan update. We’re evaluating how potential hazards such as extreme weather and fire events could affect our community. We also want to understand what we can do to better protect our people, infrastructure, and economy.
The Benefits of Planning
Resiliency planning helps our community prepare for the future. This isn’t just about addressing environmental issues; it’s about safeguarding homes, neighborhoods, businesses, and public spaces from risks we face today. Through this plan, we’ll explore practical, local solutions that can make a difference in how we prepare for these events.
How Can You Get Involved?
We need your voice! Community members, businesses, and local organizations are invited to join this effort by participating in several ways:
- Listening Sessions: Attend a listening session to learn more about the project and share your thoughts.
- Questionnaire: Help identify the climate risks you think should be addressed by participating in our Community Questionnaire.
- Community Advisory Team: Play an important role in assessing vulnerabilities in the community, reviewing proposed adaptation actions, finalizing the list of actions to be considered, and prioritizing actions for implementation
